Here are a few Q&A's to help you get to know Abby better.
What drew you to Leading Edge?
The opportunity to support so many incredible mission-driven organizations across the country is one that I just can't pass up! Leading Edge's mission to make Jewish organizations great places to work aligns with my personal values in a very natural way.
What does a “great place to work” mean to you?
A great place to work is one where personal and professional values are in alignment. Systems are set up to both support the mission and goals of the organization AND invest in the humanity of the people employed. Relationships are respectful and trust is paramount.
What are you looking forward to most about your new position?
So many things! I'm excited first and foremost to learn and grow. To learn more about the Jewish non-profit sector and the specific needs of the leaders with whom we work. I'm looking forward to growing as a leader myself, too, in support of Leading Edge and our mission. And, finally, I can't wait to become a member of this incredible team.
What’s the best advice you’ve ever received?
I've become a huge fan of the Nap Ministry over the last few years, and I appreciate the idea that "rest is a revolutionary act." Yes, please.
What’s your favorite place to travel?
We love to travel in our family! Our favorite spots are usually warm and may include outdoor time and some National Park visits. We are frequently in Texas, too, visiting our family.
What's the best TV show, movie, book or podcast you've consumed in the last year?
My favorite genre is memoir, and I am currently loving Billy Porter's "Unprotected." My husband gifted me the late Congressman John Lewis' collection of wisdom called "Carry On" and it's beautiful. And, recently, I'm trying out mysteries and have enjoyed a new series by Abby Collette.
