Here are a few Q&As to help you get to know him.
What drew you to Leading Edge?
Joining the team at Leading Edge is an exciting opportunity to have a positive impact on people working to improve everything from education to family services to the arts. To me the chance to help people in such important roles feel more fulfilled in their work was too amazing of an opportunity to pass up.
What does a “great place to work” mean to you?
A great place to work is one that treats team members as people first. That means recognizing that while work can and should have a special place in people's lives, it is not their whole life and expectations of them should be set with that in mind. It also means understanding the diversity of people— not just in backgrounds, but also work styles and personalities. A great place to work recognizes those differences and sees them as advantages, rather than something to avoid.
What do you enjoy most about operations?
I love making systems and processes work for people. Too often things are designed around the idea of how innovative or interesting the underlying mechanics are, rather than how people will use them. I enjoy finding ways to making work easier and more efficient for people.
What’s the best advice you’ve ever received?
Embrace constraints. They force you to be creative and keep you from making things too complicated.
What’s the best TV show you’ve seen in the last year?
The Good Place was probably my favorite quarantine binge. It's such an insanely smart and funny show. Who knew moral philosophy could be so much fun!
Anything else you’d like to share?
I'm so happy to be joining this team and can’t wait to see what we’ll accomplish together.
